Tropical Depression 19 has strengthened since yesterday and is now Tropical Storm Rina. Environmental conditions are favorable for some additional strengthening over the next 36 hours or so before it begins transitioning to an extratropical cyclone as it merges with a cold front.
There are no other significant features at this time. Model guidance does indicate a lowering of surface pressure over the central Caribbean Sea later this week. However, strong wind shear has overspread this region and tropical cyclone development is not anticipated at this time.
