Active Storm Advisory – Tropical Storm Harvey #57A

Tropical Storm Harvey has maximum sustained winds of 40 knots, presently tracking to the northeast at 6 knots. Harvey is forecast to make landfall over southwestern Louisiana in the next 12 hours. Heavy to excessive rainfall remains the primary impact from Harvey.

A slow, northeast path towards Cameron Parish, Louisiana is forecast over the next 12 hours. Flash flooding remains likely from Port Arthur and Beaumont northward and eastward into Louisiana.

Tropical Storm Harvey continues with maximum sustained winds of 40 knots with Harvey continuing to the north. Harvey is forecast to gradually weaken as it moves further inland.

Active Storm Advisory – Tropical Storm Irma #9

Tropical Storm Irma has formed just to the west of Cape Verde with 45 knot sustained winds. Steady intensification is expected as the center tracks through the Central Atlantic, reaching hurricane status within a couple days.

Life-threatening flooding continues across SE Texas and far SW Louisiana. Harvey continues to move northeastward while weakening and that trend will continue through the next three days.

Harvey has weakened some as it moves further inland, and it has been downgraded to a tropical depression. Continued weakening and post-tropical transition will occur over the next 24 hours as it moves northeastward.

Irma is forecast to continue to steadily strengthen over the next 4-5 days as the system tracks generally westward across the Central Atlantic.

Active Storm Advisory – Tropical Depression Harvey #61 – FINAL

Harvey is moving further inland and is forecast to gradually weaken through the next couple of days. Given the current weakening trend and expected dissipation within 48 hours or less, this will be the final advisory for Harvey. However, a high threat for flooding impacts will continue through Thursday and early Friday as what remains of Harvey tracks into western Tennessee the next day or two.
