Active Storm Advisory – Tropical Storm Jose #8

Tropical Storm Jose continues to organize with sustained winds now at 50 knots. Hurricane force winds are expected to develop within the next 24 hours as it tracks generally west-northwestward.

Tropical Storm Katia is forecast to continue to strengthen over the next two days or so before tracking south-westwards into Mexico.

Active Storm Advisory – Hurricane Irma #36

Hurricane Irma is moving across the Northern Leeward Islands currently and remains a powerful Cat 5 hurricane with sustained winds unchanged at 160 knots and gusts to 195 knots. Irma will track to the west-northwest and begin to impact Puerto Rico later today. Overnight model guidance has shifted notably eastward with Irma’s track and this trend will need to be monitored closely over the coming days. Confidence in the track forecast beyond 72 hours is very low at this time.
