After an active day of severe weather on Sunday, the beginning of the work week will start off much quieter. Ongoing showers currently stretch from the Northeast down into the Lower Mississippi Valley. Shower activity will continue through much of the day as a cold front makes continued south-eastward progress. Further west, light snow should be in the process of gradually winding down across the Northern Rockies. High pressure will build into the western two-thirds of the country with fair skies anticipated from California into the Midwest.
