NOC statement on renewed fighting in Oil Crescent

NOC today said its senior management was in ongoing emergency meetings with its subsidiaries after reports of fighting in the Oil Crescent.

“Our first concern is for the safety of our personnel,” said NOC chairman Mustafa Sanalla. “We condemn any actions that could further damage vital infrastructure. We have not declared force majeure on oil loadings pending further information, but we are monitoring the situation closely.”

NOC early today ordered the initiation of emergency measures near the fighting, including evacuation of all non-essential personnel from Es Sidr port and tank farm, leaving only security and firefighting personnel in place.
