Please see the attached Tropical Daily Planner – Atlantic for Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
WeatherOps continues to track a series of tropical waves moving westward across the Atlantic. Environmental conditions remain largely unfavorable across the Central Atlantic and Caribbean Sea due to an upper-level low producing strong wind shear and dry air moving into the region. This will prevent any further development of the three western tropical waves. Across the Eastern Atlantic near Cape Verde, an area of showers and cloudiness associated with a weak tropical wave is tracking slowly westward. A large pocket of dry air will likely prevent any development this week, however, model guidance indicates there will be a chance of broad low pressure development by the end of the weekend or the beginning of next week as a surge of moisture moves of Africa. At this time, there is only a very low chance of tropical cyclone development within the next five days.
