Please see the attached Tropical Daily Planner – Atlantic for Monday, July 31, 2017.
A non-tropical low pressure along a stalled frontal boundary has been designated Invest 98L. The low is located just offshore Tampa and is producing an area of heavy showers and thunderstorms. At this time, there is a low chance that Invest 98L attains tropical characteristics and is designated a depression or storm before moving inland, which is expected to happened sometime Monday.
Elsewhere, two tropical waves tracking westward across the Central Atlantic are being monitored for signs of organization. Low to moderate wind shear across the region is being offset by severe dry air that is hampering any development of these waves. There remains only a very low chance of tropical cyclone development for both waves.
