Tropical Disturbance Harvey is expected to become a tropical depression sometime on Wednesday, at which gradual to steady intensifation will commence. A strong tropical storm or hurricane is expected to impact the western Gulf of Mexico before making landfall over the Middle Texas Coast.

The remnants of Harvey are expected to regenerate into a tropical depression later Wednesday as the broad low pressure enters favorable conditions over the northern Bay of Campeche. Model guidance is in general agreement that a northwest track through the western Gulf of Mexico and into the Texas Coast will occur over the next 3 to 4 days. Interests across the region will want to closely monitor Harvey as tropical storm or hurricane force conditions will be possible both offshore and onshore. Invest 92L is currently a dissipating tropical wave just offshore southern Florida. There is only a low chance of further development over the next five days. Southern Florida can expect daily chances for heavy thunderstorms through the week. Elsewhere, a strong tropical wave moving off the West Africa is noted. There is only a very low chance for tropical cyclone development of this wave over the next five days as it tracks west-northwest over the central Atlantic.
