Please see the attached Tropical Daily Planner – Atlantic for Friday, September 15, 2017.
There remain three main features across the Atlantic Basin this morning. Tropical Storm Jose continues to track west-northwest over the Western Atlantic and will curve toward the northwest and the north over the next 72 hours. Conditions along the track will favour re-intensification into a hurricane with the center expected to stay well offshore the East Coast. Tropical storm force conditions still remain possible from the Outer Banks to the Cape Cod region, therefore, interests along the East Coast will want to monitor Jose closely. Invest 96L is characterized as an open tropical wave tracking westward across the Central Atlantic. Conditions ahead of the disturbance is expected to be favorable for tropical development over the next few days and model guidance is in general agreement of a tropical cyclone developing within five days. Development potential continues to increase as the wave tracks toward the Lesser Antilles. Tropical Depression Fourteen is forecast to steadily intensify over the next few days over the open waters of the Atlantic. Deteriorating conditions will induce a weakening trend over the open waters within beyond day three.
