Please see the attached Tropical Daily Planner – Atlantic for Monday, October 09, 2017.
Invest 91L has recently become organized enough and is now Tropical Depression Seventeen. Tropical Depression Seventeen has continued to produce convection along the eastern periphery of the circulation as wind shear continues to impact the system. Model guidance suggests that although conditions will remain marginal at best along this systems path it will continue to gradually strengthen over the next few days as the system drifts across the Central North Atlantic.
We also continue to monitor the Sargasso Sea. Conditions are forecast to become favorable across the region later this week. In addition to this, some model guidance suggests that a westward moving tropical wave will track across the region and become a bit more organized as it nears the Bahamas. It is good to note model guidance still remains split on this solution and given this, there remains a very low threat for tropical development over the next five days across the region.
Elsewhere, tropical development is not anticipated over the next five days.
