No significant features are currently noted across the Atlantic Basin this morning. Conditions unfavorable for tropical cyclone development are in place across much of the region. The two exceptions are over the western Caribbean Sea as well as in the far eastern Atlantic Ocean, just off the coast of Africa. A couple tropical waves in the Caribbean are moving into a favorable environment. However, these waves are fairly disorganized, and model guidance does not indicate any development threat with either one. Elsewhere, there is a strong non-tropical low located in the vicinity of 35.0N 60.0W, and it will track northeastward over the next few days while remaining non-tropical. Overall, model guidance indicates that the Atlantic Basin should remain fairly quiet over the several days, and tropical cyclone development is unlikely for at least the next 5 days.
