A low pressure system will track northeastwards from the Great Lakes to the province of Quebec Canada today bringing light to moderate snowfall and a light wintry mix to portions of the Great Lakes and into Eastern Canada, however only minor impacts are forecast across these regions today. This low will quickly exit eastern Canada by the morning hours on Saturday. Directly behind this departing low pressure system another low pressure system will form in the High Plains and also track northeastwards towards the Great Lakes on Saturday. Cold air will remain in place across much of the Central Plains and into the Upper Midwest and with ample moisture in place, moderate to heavy snowfall will spread across portions of the Central Plains and into the Upper Midwest.
